Geoffrey Durham has been a broadcaster and magician for more than forty years. He has made over 600 appearances on British television – including co-hosting both series of The Best of Magic, occupying Countdown’s Dictionary Corner for twelve years, appearing on two Children’s Royal Variety Shows and being featured on The Fifty Greatest Magic Tricks of All Time. He has toured his one man performances to theatres all over the world. He often appears as a panellist and presenter on BBC Radio 4.

 

 

 

Geoffrey works regularly as a magic advisor for stage and television. His London shows include Oliver! (Palladium), Jesus Christ Superstar (Lyceum), the Reeves and Mortimer/Fast Show double bill (Labatt’s Apollo), Peter Pan (Royal Festival Hall), Privates on Parade (Donmar) and The League of Gentlemen (Drury Lane). He was Magic Director of the Tommy Cooper play Jus’ Like That!, both for its West End run and its three subsequent national tours.

 

 

Over the last twenty years, Geoffrey has developed his expertise as a business speaker. He works with organisations and charities, helping to motivate people into improving their presentational skills. Using his long experience as a performer, he demonstrates how professionals can learn to offer clarity and impact in all aspects of their delivery at work.

 

 

Geoffrey has won a number of awards in his professional life, including The Maskelyne (the Magic Circle’s highest award), The David Berglas Award and The Murray Award for his ‘outstanding contribution to magic’. He teaches and advises many working magicians and his book Professional Secrets is widely regarded in the trade as a key learning resource.

Geoffrey is an active Quaker and speaks regularly at Quaker events.
